Note from the Treasurer

St. Cyril the Great Coptic Orthodox Church located in Polk County, Davenport, Florida.  This Church would serve a wide area of congregation community and snowbird visitors in West Orlando because of its location off the major I-4 interstate, US-27, and US-192 just outside the Disney World and Kissimmee, these neighborhoods span multiple counties. Davenport lives solely in Polk; Four Corners (also known as Citrus Ridge) gets its name from boundaries that create a convergence of Polk, Lake, Osceola, and Orange counties.

As Christian parents we know how important it is for us to continuously have God in our everyday lives and in our children's lives, our Church will be in need for donations for more upcoming projects and to cover our monthly payments.  We are currently obligate to pay back our loan received from SUS Diocese, cover monthly mortgage payments for the land, and planning to work into several phases of the Church building process within construction projects.  Moreover, Church is continuing to raise funds for our new service “Anba Abraam for the needy”, Sunday School, and Church activities.

Giving involves offering to someone else something that is valuable to us. The world has tainted the act of giving by mixing it with ulterior motives focused on what we can get in return.  God is our source; when we give cheerfully, we express our trust in His promise to abundantly provide for us.  Giving is our response to the sacrifice God made for us when He gave us His only Son, who meant so much to Him.

“But this I say:  He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.  So, let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.  And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.”  2 Corinthians 9:6-8
